Silverkit lashed her tail, her blue eyes glittering with anger. And you agreed! What sort of mouse-brain would! I only wanted to come because of the foolish hope that my father might possibly be here! But no, all I found was you! Her voice shook with sadness at the thought of her missing father. He left me, she cried out in her head, he left me to die...
Don't you try and get pity out of me, I've had enough of it! she spat, interrupting the black warrior mid-sentence. As the she-cat told her that blaming her would be the biggest mistake of her life she stalked right up to her and thrust up her muzzle until it was a whisker away from hers, her blue eyes staring into the black ones of her clan-mate. Oh yeah? Try me! she spat, her eyes narrowed, fur bristling, tail lashing. She looked like a true warrior, only small.
Silverkit's eyes blazed, she spun around and hissed at the elder, her eyes boring into her pelt. You can't stop me! I am prepared to kill a cat if they dare threaten or pity me! My life was harder than yours, my father left me, I watched my mother die the same death I would have if I'd been smart enough to stay awake! The death of any of my family was all my fault! Do either of you have siblings? Well mine was still-born! Do either of you have parents? My father left me and my mother died before my eyes when I was a kit! Do either of you have clan-mates that care for you? Ever felt the protection of another cat? Ever felt as though your world is full of happiness at least for one heartbeat? Ever known love? Ever felt as though you can breath without having to constantly feel as though your dieing inside? Well I haven't! So next time you was to challenge me, even suggest that your life is worse, even think about telling me to respect someone who had a bad past, think, she has lived in shadow her whole life, never having a happing moment or knowing love or safety. She has a dead mother and a lost father. The fact that she is alive is a miracle. So next time you think about doing anything like that, think!
Her eyes shone with rage, but there was a hint of misery and her misery showed that every single word of that was true. A single tear fell from her eyes and the splash seemed to be the the only sound the small she-cat heard. Then the noises swarmed back again and she turned tail and raced away out of camp all the way to the Lightningclan border where she lay down in the spot her mother had lay when she died. That should have been me, mother should never have died. It was all my fault!
