Dawn let out a sigh as she padded out of the warriors' den. Camp was so boring lately, yet she didn't know the territory well enough to go exploring. Why was she here anyway? Oh, she didn't know. She shook her head and padded over to the fresh-kill pile, the sun beating down on her back. How can they even survive here? Its so hot then so cold, you don't even know whether its Green-leaf or Leaf-bare she grumbled, it was so boring here! She dragged a rabbit off the pile and carried it over to a sunning-rock near her den. She dropped the rabbit on the rock and jumped up after it with a smile. She crouched over it and finished it in famished mouthfuls. At-least this place was prey-rich.
She lay down on the rock and pricked her ears, listening for any sounds that came across her. She could hear mewling kits play-fighting with each-other in the nursery. Apprentices practicing outside their den, elders sunning themselves in the entrance to their den. Most of the warriors and apprentice were out hunting, training and patrolling. She wondered if she was the only warrior in camp. She shook her head at the thought, that would be poor protection.
Then she caught a sound, rustling? Probably just a kit running around the camp, or maybe and apprentice wrestling with its den-mate. She pricked her ears again, now more alert and turned her head to the sound. nothing, there was nothing there. The sound came again, behind her now. She spun around in-time to see a tail disappear behind the warriors den. She quietly hopped off the rock, her paws making no sound on the soft ground. She padded silently forward and soon caught sight of a cat. Hello there.
